Diet Tips For pregnant women,stay HEALTHY!

Its always been said that the best gift that a Mother can give to her baby during pregnancy is the proper nutrition that a mother should intake.
Im on my 37th weeks now of my 3rd pregnancy and would share the diet that my doctors advices me.

Rice and Rice alternatives-Foods from this group include rice,pasta,noodles,cereals,breads and other starchy foods.they are good sources of energy, so a large proportion of your diet should be compromised of foods from this group.Aside from energy they provide pregnant women they also gives dietary fiber as well as proteins,vitamins and minerals.Try to include whole-grain bread in your diet for added fiber.


Milk and Milk products-Milk,Cheese and Yogurt are rich sources of Calcium and provide other essential nutrients like protein,Vitamins A and D some Vitamins B.Choose low fat or non-fat milk products if you are concious about gaining too much weight.


Meat and Meat alternatives-Foods in the meat group are from animal sources,like lean meat,poultry,fish,eggs and seafoods.they are major sources of Protein,B Vitamins and minerals like Iron,Iodine and Zinc.Lean red meats are the best sources of iron but remember that most meats contain moderate to high amounts of fats.Use the leanest cuts available or trim off the excess fat before cooking.


Fruits and Vegetables-Fresh fruits and Vegetables are excellent sources of essential vitamins and minerals providing fiber for roughage.In particular,fruits and vegetables contain Carotenes,B Vitamins,Vitamin C,and Vitamin E.They also contain minerals which include Potassium,Calcium,Iron,and Magnesium among others.
To get the most nutritional Value from vegetables eat a wide variety of these.Include green leafy vegetables such us camote tops,saluyot,and malunggay as they are higher in certain nutrients comparison with other types of vegetables.Avoid overcooking as this destroys the vitamins.
Citrus like oranges are good sources of Vitamin C which help in absorption.Eating fresh fruits with its edible skin will also provide you with fiber.


OTHER FOODS-This category includes fats,salt and sugar and the foods and seasonings which contain them.Consume only minimal amounts of these food types.But do not totally avoid fats as they provide essential fatty acids and help absorb,transport and store fat-soluble vitamins A,D,E and K.
